Hurricane Milton

The devastating effects of Hurricane Milton were felt across the communities we serve, and we are acting quickly to respond. Before the storm made landfall, we began working with local leaders and relief organizations to assess needs and help communities prepare. We’ve assisted thousands of Walmart and Sam’s Club associates with evacuations, and we will continue to prioritize their safety and well-being.
Walmart, Sam’s Club and the Walmart Foundation committed $16 million to support relief efforts across communities impacted by Hurricane Milton and Hurricane Helene. This support included donations of 178 truckloads of food, water and essential items and nearly $10 million in grants to relief organizations.
For several weeks after the hurricanes made landfall, Walmart and Sam’s Club parking lots across in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia became places of hope for communities where people could access charging stations, laundry, showers and hot meals. Operation BBQ Relief and Walmart Private Fleet drivers served a total of more than 544,000 meals from Walmart parking lots.
We’re constantly inspired by the generosity of our customers and members. Customers and members rallied to support Hurricane relief, generously donating more than $14.5 million for the American Red Cross, in addition to the company’s $16 million commitment.
Throughout the recovery, we will continue looking for ways to support our associates, customers, members and their families.
